I was born in Oklahoma in the middle of the depression. When I was young, my family moved to southern California where I went to school and eventually, Pepperdine College. There I married and started a family. We moved to San Jose where I taught English and drama in high school. In 1965 we moved to Eugene, where I started teaching at Churchill High. After 36 years of teaching, I retired in 1994 and got back into acting, finding my way happily to Encore Theatre.
