Superintendents' Feedback

On behalf of the administration, staff and students at Lorane and Applegate Elementary Schools I want to thank you for yesterday’s incredible Encore Theatre performance.

The acting, singing and dancing were all first-rate! High energy, fast-paced and timely stories set to up-beat music and dance proved hugely successful with our boys and girls. We’d love to see your show expand to include an offering for high school students.

Keep up the excellent work -- you show was the best I’ve seen in our schools in the eight years I’ve been with the district!

All the best,
Daniel A. Barker
Superintendent

Dear Eliza and "The Encore Group";

This letter is to thank you for your skills and dedication that were so wonderfully shared with our students. When the students started coming to the assembly they were muttering about what a bore it might be to watch all those old people dance. Then your group shared their truth with songs and dance. When the Encore group was finished the students were deeply touched. They left talking about truth and how powerful it had been to share the lives of the performers. The students felt understood and they shared a new respect for the experiences of others. Your group clearly has a very important message to share with young people. The importance of accepting ourselves was presented so profoundly that everyone in the room heard what was said. Thank you for your time, efforts and dedication. Enclosed is a copy of our school newspaper article by Ben Madison illustrating how our students felt about the value of your group's performance.

Sincerely,
Charles J. Sharps, PhD.,
Superintendent,
Elkton, High School
