Dianne: Now I just wanted to play on the team
But only the boys got to do that dream

Helen: My brother had a bike and a paper route too
Babysittin's what I had to do

Lois: Woodshop guys got stuff to make
Home Ec was all that the girls could take

Mac: And my dream died when I realized
That veterinary school was only open to guys

All: What did we hear? Girls can't do that
Get outta here. Girls can't do that!

Marian: My dad wanted me to be a C.P.A.
But I said, "Dad, I'm a girl. No way!"

Linda: Bein' silly and cute wasn't part of my plan
I liked bein' told that I thought like a man

Lois: Well, I've gotta say that I flirted and flaunted
And used bein' girly to get what I wanted

All: Giggle or cry if the mood should strike you
But don't be smart or the boys won't like you

All: What did we say? I can't do that!
Never no way! I can't do that!

Mac: So there was a lot that wasn't allowed
But that was then and this is now .

Marian: Some of our choices sure were cheesy
But bein' a girl was not that easy

Dianne: You gotta dream you're hopin' for?
Well, you go girl! there's an open door!

All: And nobody's more entitled than you!
Whatever you believe in, you can do!

All: What do we hear? Girls can do that!
Have a career? Girls can do that!
Oughta be clear! Girls can do that!
Send up a cheer! Girls can do that!
